With 100 days to go until the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, WonderFold is proud to introduce a collection created in support of athletes, families, and the communities behind them.
When WonderFold became an official partner of the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, the project began with a limited-edition stroller wagon. But as our team looked deeper at what accessibility really means during a multi-day sporting event, the idea grew into something more thoughtful than a custom colorway.
It became about designing something that supports families navigating long event days.
Designing Around a Real Problem
The 2026 USA Games will bring more than 3,000 athletes and thousands of families from all 50 states to compete across 16 sports. Behind every athlete is a support system of parents, siblings, and caregivers. Many of them are managing long venue days, outdoor heat, unpredictable schedules, and young children who need more than a seat with a harness.
For families with children who have sensory sensitivities or autism, events like these can be overwhelming. Crowds, bright light, sudden noises, constant visual movement: it all adds up. Being present at the games while keeping your kids comfortable and regulated can be a real challenge.
That’s the problem we decided to solve.
A Canopy Designed to Do More Than Block the Sun
The panoramic canopy is the centerpiece of the Special Olympics Accessory Kit, and we chose it for what it does beyond shade.
The extended coverage and wider side panels reduce visual stimulation from crowds, movement, and shifting light. For kids with sensory sensitivities, that means a calmer, more contained space inside the stroller wagon. A quieter ride in the middle of a big, loud, and exciting day.
The canopy also features:
- UPF 50+ UV protection
- Reversible and removable design
- Durable, washable nylon fabric
It was designed with sensory-conscious families in mind first.

Beyond the Product
This collection is part of WonderFold Cares, our long-term commitment to communities where mobility, accessibility, and inclusion intersect. The Special Olympics partnership isn’t a campaign with an end date. We’ll be on the ground at the Games this summer, sharing stories from the athletes and families at the center of the movement, and continuing to find ways to put our products and platform in service of inclusion long after the closing ceremony.
With 100 days to go until the 2026 USA Games, we’re just getting started.
